Team Leaders

McDonald Sales & Merchandising is currently seeking several Team Leaders to join our Merchandising Set Team on a contract basis, for a short-term project within The Home Depot stores. Hours are full-time, approximately 40 – 44 hours per week, working 3 - 4 nights each week. As a Team Leader, you will be working primarily overnights in various The Home Depot stores across Canada, to set up new displays and merchandise.

Team Leaders will be responsible for supervising a team of  2 – 3 people to complete full resets of existing displays within the stores. This will require removing and disposing of old displays, setting new displays, setting new stock, labelling bays and setting up marketing materials. You will be responsible for completing reports on a daily basis,  liasing with the store Project Managers as well as our Project Managers and ensuring the projects are completed according to stated timeframes and specifications.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, flexible and work well in a team environment. You must have your own reliable vehicle that you can dedicate for business purposes, steel-toed shoes or boots and be comfortable using tools. Flexibility to travel across the country during the contract time period is an absolute must, as you may potentially be working in different cities and/or provinces each week. Previous merchandising and/or retail experience, as well as experience working with tools is preferred, however we are willing to train the right candidate.

Compensation is by hourly wages. All expenses for travel purposes are company paid, including gas, air fare, hotels, car and meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising a crew of 2 to 3 people
• Dismantling and disposal of old in-store displays
• Building and installing new displays
• Liasing with Home Depot Project Managers as well as McDonald Sales Managers
• Setting labels, posters and other marketing material
• Completion of daily work reports
• Follow project timelines to ensure projects for each store are completed on time

 

Requirements:

• Able to follow instructions and relay instructions to your team clearly

• Building and setting displays
• Experience working with tools
• Supervisory experience

Contract period is 3 months (12 weeks) which includes the training period as well as the actual project period. Contract start dates will be approximately the middle or end of January, 2010 and run until mid-April 2010.
